Now you see, one of the things that I deeply and passionately hate is sulking.
I'm sure you've seen it, it's when someone decides that they are somehow maligned, and rather than actually dealing with the source of the problem, they go and cry in a corner.
Or lurk, exuding an aura of 'miffed'.

The thing it, if someone does that around me, I _will_ just leave them to it. I appreciate that your life might have just gone a bit shit, but I'm going to assume that if you are going to in some measure isolate yourself, then you don't want to talk about it.

I'm not going to yield to your emotional manipulation, because as far as I see it, 'having a sulk' is just attention seeking. OK, I might let a 5 year old get away with it, but for those I know who are well past their teens, really. Do you find it in any way effective?

Does mumsie come running over to make it all better? You're an adult. You almost certainly know people who can and will help out with ... whatever problem. All you've got to do, is be vaguely honest about what the situation is, and ask. And you also have to accept that there's a price to doing so. You've got to admit that the people who rally around you when you need help are friends. And deserve more than a petty tantrum.
