System maintenance

Sun E450 'Troll' has been emasculated into the far less snappy 'knsvss00037'.
Has had HBA installed. Memo to me. Don't ever rack mount an E450, because you've got to remove the side panel to get into it.
Host bus adaptor has been connected to SAN fabric.
120GB of storage has been magicced up from said SAN fabric, and attached to the host.
Host 'sd.conf' file configured to map those LUNs to the appropriate places. 120Gb of nice, shiny unviolated disk.
/etc/system file has been butchered in preparation for an Oracle installation.
OK, so it took a couple of hours, but that was pretty much from request to implementation, without having to fight our way past pointless tossers who's sole purpose for existing is to veto expenditure.
Which was nice.
And now the server room is in a little bit of a mess. I figure that'll wait till tomorrow though, since I really don't feel like grovelling under floor tiles with cables _now_.
The E450 takes 190 seconds to boot (based on response to pings).
And an additional 90 seconds to get to a state whence one can log on.
And now I feel absolutely no guilt in going to Alexander Wines (affectionately known as "Rob's") and purchasing a dozen of his fine beverages.
