Well, not quite a fiasco, but far less effective than I'd hoped.
I obviously missed the tiny bit of small print on the label of the glue gun:
"Whilst this glue gun is a quality piece of kit, we recommend that you use glue in a precise quantity known as the dollop. You see, this glue gun is perfect and precise, however if you use dollops you will feel less of a lunk head when you cannot produce anything other than a dollop."
Anyone who's done primary school 'gluing' will know that the dollop is a large 'splotch' of glue, that seems to go everywhere, and is really far more than you need to stick a little silk leaf to a net.
So i've got little leaves, and dollops of glue stuck over some netting. Doesn't work quite as well as I'd hoped, but does add a little colour to it.
And now, I'm ready to do stuff.
To do list:
Go to Go Outdoors.
Acquire 13kg propane bottle
Acquire guy lines (weather is shaping up, but I'm a pessemist)
Go shopping (safeway/sainsburies wherever)
Acquire enough food to propel myself for 4 days of 'loony running' And some snacks and munchies too.
Raid Alexander wines for some mixin' grog and a bottle of beer (or two) for the event crew. Consider getting some bottles of 'badger' beer, just because it's funny.
