Seems like my karma still isn't quite straight.

The council still want money.

You see, they passed our 'old' debt onto some bailiffs.
And they issued us with a statement for this year.

I and another housemate paid part of this year's sum.

And separately I settled the account with the bailiffs.

Guess what the council did though? That's right. They sent the money on to the bailiffs, who now have probably been overpaid by £150, and have now sent out a 'red demand' again, for the amount we owe them.

So now, instead of doing my gluing and cable tying of my Maelstrom costume, I'm instead going to leave it, and drink beer instead.

Why me?

That one sounds like a "phone the council and tell them to fuck off" moment. You paid them the money, not "gave them money to pass on". Fscking retards.

Yeah, I think that's time to phone and give people hassle. If that doesn't work, walk in there with all the relevant paperwork, and shove it under the right person's nose (you may want to make an apointment when phoning them).

Which reminds me, I need to hassle the council about giving us a corrected council tax bill because of the move. I phoned a week in advance, and told it would be sorted, but haven't heard anything....

I think it's not you, it's the council being retards.

Bummer. When you've recovered enough to bother, go kick their asses.

You can tell me nothing about the level of incompetence of that bunch useless wasters. Write to the department, send copies to the head of department and her boss (state in the letter this is what you've done. If you've not got their names, I have them in my records from past encounters.

I'd be furious. In no uncertain terms, they would be aware of my displeasure.

Ah yes, I've seen your annual council tax letter :).

Actually, what I _really really_ want is for all this shite to just go away. I'd really rather not be paying 2/3rds of a council tax bill, especially not unexpectedly, but that's outweighed by my really rather not wanting bailiffs and court injunctions.

Oh well. Maelstrom this weekend. I shall enjoy it. Even if I have to get so unbelievably shit faced it's untrue.
