A list of 100 things about me. Kinda been doing the rounds, and I thought it was vaguely amusing. Admittedly it did run out a bit near 90...

1. I'm male
2. I've been bitten by a seal.
3. I sleep with the curtains open.
4. I've been run over by a mini bus. (I smashed the front wind screen, but walked away)
5. I've been hit by a car. (several times)
6. I've never been hospitalised. I have a metal plate in my leg, from where I tore a ligament
7. I broke my wrist falling over in a playground at school.
8. I added the same entry twice on this list. (twice)
9. I've eaten crocodile, alligator, swordfish, shark but haven't yet tried snake.
10. I'm allergic to chicken. Well poultry.
11. I was once 'mugged' for the price of some chips.
12. I've run around a nightclub filled with people wearing a bathrobe, an assault vest and carrying a shotgun. Here.
13. I've been doing live action roleplay for several years now, and still can't fight with those bloody rubber swords.
14. I have two alarm clocks - one for weekdays, one for weekends.
15. My sister thinks I tell her bullshit stories. Occasionally, she's right.
16. I've been thrown out of a bar for howling.
17. I once twisted my ankle by falling off a toilet.
18. I like listening to Classical music.
19. It took me several months to figure out that the lyrics to "Weapon of Choice" included "If you walk without rhythm then you won't attract the worm" and that it was a reference to Dune
20. Dune is my favourite book.
21. I usually have a paperback in close proximity.
22. I don't have a TV, although I do occasionally watch DVDs on my computer. I haven't had a TV for 6 years.
23. I've worked as a projectionist for a student cinema. I now cannot avoid seeing cuedots. I can also 'make up' a film ready to show in under 30 minutes. (As I recall, it was The Crow).
24. I've blagged several sets of free tickets from cinema's by complaining about rack and focus.
25. I wear glasses, and won't switch to contacts because I think they make me look like a thug.
26. When I was 6 I dived through a window whilst trying to walk in my mum's high heels.
27. I've been helping run SINergy for several months now. I still can't figure out the difference between the plots that 'work' and the ones that fizzle.
28. I've flown an aeroplane.
29. I've worked in a supermarket, as a 'checkout flunky'
30. I wanted to become a pilot.
31. I had a 'car written off' accident on my second driving lesson.
32. When I lived alone I used to spend 6 hours in the bath.
33. I've gatecrashed a 'captain and first mate' party in St. Petersburg.
34. I've consumed Vodka in Russia.
35. I spent 4 weeks taking part in the tall ships race. It was St. Petersburg, Russia -> Turku, Finland -> Copenhagen, Denmark.
36. I work for a French company. I did French at GCSE. I've been abroad twice on business. Both times were to Germany.
37. It's a shorter commute to Stuttgart than it is to London for me.
38. I've been told numerous times that I have a really evil laugh.
39. I've smoked pot, and own a bong.
40. I own 4 credit cards. I only use 1.
41. I own a copy of 'The Prince' by Niccolo Machiavelli. I got to about chapter 3 before I got bored.
42. I've read a translation of 'The Art of War'.
43. I heard "Everybody Knows" by Leonard Cohen during a dodgy-ish film called Exotica. But never checked the credits to find out what it was, and so had been looking out for it for another 10 years.
44. The music from System Shock 2 still gives me the fear.
45. When running SINergy I typically come up with 4 'things' each hour. Only about half of these even get noticed. And not in a predictable pattern.
46. I'm a book fanatic.
47. I've smoked cigars, but never cigarettes.
48. I first smoked a cigar overlooking Niagra falls.
49. I like cats, but seem to be allergic to them.
50. I'm technically asthmatic, but don't seem to suffer from it when in Coventry.
51. It took me about a year to figure out that my mum went to the same university as I did. (although it was a teacher training college then)
52. I usually have a pen-knife in my pocket.
53. Piercings have a tendancy to make me go 'squick'.
54. I've had a taxi from Coventry, to Manchester and back again.
55. I've a couple books about voodoo, which are hard to come by in the UK. Initially I got hold of them to do a little background research, but found that it's actually a fascinating set of religious beliefs.
56. I've been christened and confirmed in the Church of England. I've not been to Church (excepting weddings) since the day (some years after) where it suddenly 'felt wrong'.
57. I own a washing machine and a hoover. These for some reason, make me feel old.
58. I once made hash muffins whilst at home. And fed a couple to my parents. Unfortunately I underestimated the effect that an 1/8th of an ounce would have, and so everyone in the house was really rather broken.
59. I'm still vaguely entertained by ringing someone nearby's mobile, and after watching 5 or 6 people dive for their pockets, hang up again.
60. I started growing chillies. They died.
61. I've "hacked" successfully.
62. When sailing the Tall Ships race, I completed my 'competent crew' certificate. I never sent off for it.
63. I took my driving test 3 times. First two I got '3 or 4' minor faults, followed by a 'serious'. Third time I got 13 out of the allowable 15.
64. My younger sister did driving lessons and test before I did. This wasn't entirely accidental.
65. I tend to pick up hobbies for about 6 months, and then I get bored and do something different.
66. I lost a round in a magic tournament due to misreading a card and inadvertently cheating.
67. I've owned several 'illegal' weapons including a flick knife, a butterfly knife and an asp. (OK, so this ain't a big deal if you're in the US.)
68. I'm paranoid about owing a debt.
69. I like to read whilst on the toilet (yes this is related to #17)
70. If you type my name into Google, you get 3 pages of hits or so before the first that isn't me. I'm kinda proud of this.
71. I'm egotistical, and love hearing how great I am.
72. I can root a Solaris machine in 30 seconds.
73. I've spent 72 hour online mudding. Only once though.
74. Despite being a Unix junky, and hating Windows, I still run 2000 Server on my PC at home.
75. I've done one of those official Mensa tests. I scored 15 points past 'genius'.
76. I've used the phrase 'and then Romeo and Juliet went off together for a jolly big shag' in an essay. It wasn't mine.
77. I've given myself second degree burns with boot polish.
78. I've made a day trip to Stuttgart.
79. I can type well. This I put down to an excess of mudding. On a mud, if you can't type fast you die lots.
80. I've been surfing. I was crap at it.
81. I've swam in the baltic. It was 7 degrees, so it was a short swim.
82. I've thrown bubble bath in a public fountain.
83. I've spent £100 a head on a meal.
84. I've consumed 7 ice creams in 1 day. Age seven, on the isle of Capri.
85. I've been up the Eiffel tower.
86. I've been up the CN tower (Toronto).
87. I've been 'around' tower bridge.
88. I've watched the Trooping of the Colour at Buckingham Palace. (Actually I need to go do that again. I was young)
89. I've drunk Russian vodka, bought for $1 per litre in St. Petersburg, whilst on a boat in international waters, watching sunset and sunrise.
90. I've been to see the Terracotta army.
91. I've sent flowers to someone I've never met.
92. I used to be a Scout. (Beaver, Cub, Scout then Venture Scout).
93. I've sat in a lecture at University, openly drinking beer.
94. I've had a brain scan. (It was because I was curious and they were seeking volunteers).
95. I've walked the causeway to St Michael's mount when the water was waist height.
96. I've written 510 posts since I started doing LJ. That's an average of 1.77 / day. I've also had 1612 comments. That's an average of 3 per post.
97. I have A levels in Physics, Maths (x2), Computer science and General studies. I'm more proud of the fact that I got a 1st in S level physics.
98. I have an honours degree (BEng) from the University of Warwick. It's in computer systems engineering. Despite that, I learned more in the first year of work than I did over the 3 years at university.
99. Computers like me.
100. I've swam with a seal. (yes, this is related to #2. How did you guess?)
