sobriqueWell it seems that yesterday, the bank decided to spontaneously cancel my Switch card. This is vaguely inconvenient. If I didn't have another bank acc. in which I stash money, it'd royally suck. Need to whinge at them about that.
I also visited the tip. Coventry has a 'waste to energy plant' that does look rather impressive up close. The best bit of all, was getting to see them activate the 'rubbish compressor' is about the only words I can think to describe it.
Basically, there's a bunch of these kinda bins. So the guy comes along, presses a button on the side, and a hydraulic metal thing comes and pushes the contents of the lower half. It wasn't fast, but it did just cut a sofa in half without any effort at all...
I'm still really irritated by the number of drivers who fail to keep in lane on the coventry ringroad. 90% seem to stick in the left hand lane, all the way round. Despite the fact that you should only be in the left hand lane if you are coming off at the next exit. The _correct_ way to drive the ring road, and the way that's marked by every 'lane filter' sign, is to keep _right_ until you're at your junction. (with the exception of junctions 1 and 4 at least). Then move over, and leave, so you're not presenting a hazard to _everyone else_ manuvering at the exit.
