REBOOT!

LET ME MAKE ONE THING PERFECTLY CLEAR:

No installer, EVER, is allowed to just reboot my system.
I don't care how acey urgent it is that the system restarts, you're not allowed to just do it.

HP are now right at the top of my shit list.

I've come across a few MicroShaft installers that doe something similar, but even they have the politeness to have a pop up "Click OK to reboot" that you can't get rid of other than clicking OK... Can still shut other stuff down though.

Yeah, but this has to be a first on Unix.

I did subsequently find exactly _what_ happened. Wasn't the installer triggering a reboot ... well not exactly anyway...
