One of the side effects of travelling back from Gloucester is that I have the opportunity to listen to Radio 1 between 4-6.30. The DJ at this time is Scott Mills and Scott wants to be recognised as a Chav, he announces on the air. Clearly the man is good at his job because he is on Radio 1 ahead of thousands of others, therefore unlikely chav material. Why then does he want to be seen as something so vulgar?
Ironic postmodern satire OR The man is so mainstream and wedded to his celebrity that this is his attempt to get more listeners?
He could be someone who likes Chav style. Some sort of partial Chav, who's just enough Not A Dick to hold down a job.
Or, he is a Chav, brought in by the BBC to appeal to such a large group of listeners, and all the work is done by someone else. He might still get some input on the play list, but as it shows some variation someone else will have to have final say.

I mean, you can pull the intestines out, and use them to strangle the others.
