37 spams this morning.
Not really much different to any other day.
The difference being, that today, it's technically illegal
Oh yes, a law is passed in the EU, to make spamming illegal.
(For more details, the register article is here http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/6/34443.html)
As if. These spamming morons are already doing anti-social things, that there's very little chance of getting caught at. Prosecution of such things is very expensive, simply because if the nature of the internet. I hope to see less junk mail as a result, but until there is legislation across _all_ of the internet, you'll have juristrictional conflicts. If a spam is sent by someone in china, via a Relay in Korea, to a mail server in Paris, that's then downloaded by someone in England, in which country is a crime committed?
That's leaving aside the proof aspect - in computer crime, the fact that a system is 'compromised' typically means that the evidence (log files etc.) are unreliable, since they may have been tampered with.
Good eh?
The WHFRP fiasco progresses on slowly. Last night saw an afternoon in Middenheim
What mostly happened is that Symm went to play archery, shot pretty well, and is now 10 points ahead of the next best going into the 3rd and final day.
Tarim went to ogle elven gymnasts.
Raice went to check out a tavern, with not enough money to bribe (oops).
Plan is, to return to said tavern, and bribe better.
Oh and find out WTF is going on with the 'spices' that are being put into the beer. Suspicions are rising.
And of course, now Symm is still suffering from "Purple hands" - went to the mages guild, and a little rudeness from Symm (and a 98 on the percentiles) meant they told him to sod off.
Oh, and a quick poll, just to see if it works.
Following a discussion, of the legendary feat of 4 consecutive bullseyes on the archery tournament, the conclusion is that shooting a "possible" would cost me all my remaining fate points.
[Poll #218675]
And having had a flick through the Amber roleplay book last night, I still can't quite figure out 'the point' of that auction system. I mean, the points you bid, are what points you get in the stat. Cos it's diceless, being 'best' is always good.
But surely that's just a question of picking the highest number, and ... well that's about it.
Or have I missed something subtle about the concept?
Hmm, must go find my copy.
