God Squad

On the way to work this morning, I was followed by a luridly coloured 'Jesus Army' minibus. With the tagline 'Jesus people, loving people'.

It's not the first time I've seen it. I'm just not really sure what it _does_. I mean, does the Jesus Army, invade a town, spout scripture at them, and then leave? Or is it more militant, and start running around with assault rifles, make people belive.

Somehow, I don't see it. What I can visualise, is they park that bus up on a highstreet somewhere, and pester all the passes by in good Jehovah's witness fashion.

And people wonder why less and less people are actively religious.

I heard on the radio that Channel 5 are doing an MMR 'docu-drama' that's slanted along the lines of 'A mother's fight for her child, who got autism from MMR'. Talk about biased. There's lots of evidence _against_ MMR causing autism. And a minimal amount _for_. The latter, being mostly, "My child had MMR 4 years ago, and now he's autistic.". Ironic really, because doesn't _every_ child have to have MMR?

So the ones pre-disposed to autism, would have it too. It's like saying that being born between January 1st, and December 31st increases your probability of being autistic. When you choose a set which contains everyone, well, obviously you're going to have people with autism in the set.

Hysterical parents. Joy.

Oh, and apparantly council tax is due to rise by an average of 13%. Bastards. Just thinking about how much more beer that means I don't get makes me want to cry.
