Drove to work in the fog this morning.
There's something marvelous about moving around in fog. The way it shrouds the rest of the world, and damps sounds, means that you can really feel alone in the middle of a city.
Walking shrouded in mist, with only your footsteps for company.

Course, when driving to work, fog is a right bugger. Reduced visibility, more water/ice on the road, and other drivers who don't have the proper respect for such conditions.
My opinion is that the appropriate distance to be from another car, in thick fog, is about the point where you can clearly make out their car, but no closer. Pick your speed such that that distance is safe.
I had a number of cars trying to clean my bumpers on the way in. Now that's normal on a clear sunny day...

It was also, about the first time that using fog lights was actually sensible. It seems that there's a few people on the roads that go ooh, a little mist, that's not affecting visibility. I'll turn on my fog lights, and dazzle everyone. (That's leaving aside the tossers that get mixed up between fog lights, and driving lights).

I did encounter a cyclist, who thought that cycling in the fog, on the road, with no lights and wearing grey. Doh.

I've also noticed my bank balance is starting to look unhealthy. Roll on payday. The joys of a 5 weekend month this close to christmas. Don't know about anyone else, but my expenditure dribbles out during the and rushes during the weekends. Oh well. Payday soon
