Hmm a news story of the perils of being a couch potato.

This is very wrong

I can hardly believe that bit about the skin grafting to the couch - can that really happen?

In all honesty, I'm really not sure.
I mean, I've seen trees 'growing around' things like fences etc. Maybe it's similar?

Yes. If the skin is broken, by stretching or bedsores, it will grow around the threads of the fabric. It's the same as what happens to burns victims or the donor site of a skin graft if the bandages aren't changed very frequently. Living in dirty conditions will make it happen faster, because there's more chemical irritation to weaken the skin.

Ah - I hadn't thought of new skin growing over wounds -

Ed, will you stop spamming my friends page! Please!

Just take him off your friends page then :p

You can set a friends group that doesn't include him, and then use this to view your friends list through.

Or just learn to read faster ;)

No.

It's my journal, and I'll write what I like in it. It is, after all, an opt-in medium.

And anyway, 's not my fault that no one else you know writes stuff. I've only posted 5 times today...

What a really nasty thought. I mean, I know we've used the metaphor 'merging with the sofa' when someone's being frighteningly lazy, but I never really imagined that it was _actually possible_.

14 posts by Ed Vs 7 Posts by everyone / thing else. Reading LJ once a day, I'm in serious danger of friends post dropping off the page before I read them.

And I don't want to drop Ed, because sometimes he's interesting... :-)

Time to fiddle with LJ settings...
